Arise for Social Justice was born more than 40 years ago from the courage and determination of women on welfare who refused to be silenced. Since then, we’ve grown into a fierce, community-led organization grounded in the lived experiences of low-income and marginalized people. Our purpose is bold and unwavering: to educate, organize, and empower individuals to know their rights, fight for their dignity, and transform the systems that oppress them. Whether confronting unjust housing conditions, exposing failures in public health, or challenging the criminal legal system, we work to shift power back into the hands of the people. Arise is more than an organization—it is a movement for justice, equity, and collective liberation.
