Meet our Board

Liz Bewsee has been with Arise since day 1. Her contributions to Arise go beyond Housing & Economic Justice work. She has been the anchor, keeping the organization upright, always doing whatever needed to be done. She is the guardian of our organization’s history, the history of the City of Springfield and all of its actors and iterations of folks in power. She helps us remain true to who we are. She is the staff representative on the board as well as our treasurer.

Sally is an outpatient clinician at Behavioral Health Network in Springfield. Sally works with a diverse population in BHN’s Community Behavioral Health Center, with a focus on trauma treatment. Prior to her work as a therapist, Sally worked as a Mobile Crisis Clinician. Sally earned her Bachelors in Social Work from Elms College in Chicopee, completing her undergrad internship at Arise for Social Justice. She went on to earn her Masters of Social Work degree from Saint Louis University.
Sally has overcome many barriers throughout her life including being raised in poverty, overcoming substance abuse, and rebuilding her life after incarceration. Sally uses not only her education and professional knowledge to help others but also relies on her lived experience to serve as an example of change and a symbol of hope.
Sally is passionate about being a social worker and strives to help people who are struggling to make impactful and sustainable changes in their lives.
